Meghan Trainor headlines Mohegan Sun gig
Last year, Meghan Trainor was scheduled to give a concert at Mohegan Sun ... but her July 4 gig was postponed because the singer suffered a hemorrhage on her vocal cord. And then the rescheduled September date was nixed after Trainor had to cancel the rest of her tour to get vocal cord surgery.
Sad days for area Trainor fans.
Well, now they can rejoice. Trainor is playing the Mohegan Sun Arena tonight, and, based on reviews of her tour so far, her voice is back in great shape. And, in her set list, the Nantucket native busts out all her hits, from "All About the Bass" to "Like I'm Gonna Lose You" to "No."
Opening the show are Common Kings and Oscar-nominee-turned-recording-artist Hailee Steinfeld (movies: "True Grit" and "Pitch Perfect 2"; songs: "Love Myself" and "Starving"). It's bound to be a fun night.
Meghan Trainor, 7 p.m. Thursday, Mohegan Sun Arena; also, Hailee Steinfeld and Common Kings; $39, $59; mohegansun.com.
