Lyle Lovett clearly likes doing “in conversation and song” types of concerts. It was the format for his joint tour with John Hiatt that came to the Garde Arts Center in 2019.

And now Lovett is out in the same structure with Lisa Loeb, and — lucky us — they’re also coming to the Garde, for a Friday gig.

It should be quite a night, since both artists have lots of fabulous songs — I’m guessing Loeb is likely to sing “Stay (I Missed You)” and “I Do” and Lovett might break out “If I Had a Boat” and “That’s Right (You’re Not From Texas)” — and they are both engaging conversationalists.
