Little do people know, but the East Lyme/Niantic free summer concert series, which is very popular, restarted last summer. It is held from 6 to 8 p.m. every Saturday on the lawn behind the East Lyme Town Hall.

This past Saturday we were treated to a fantastic singer, Katie Perkins, who performed country/pop music. I consider myself lucky to have been at the concert to hear her - there's a "wow" factor to her voice - accompanied by her guitarist, Josh. She also will appear at the Hamburg Fair.

The town hall lawn is expansive with plenty of room for families to bring lawn chairs, blankets and dinner. The children have plenty of room to play and dance. Even portable outdoor toilets were provided.

Don't miss the rest of the concerts; only a few remain. The town books the best groups, including my favorites - locals who play at home in their garages, which is talent at its best.
