    New London art gallery to hold show for Wolf Conservation Center

    “Majestic Beauty”

    Spirit Gallery – New London’s art gallery and tattoo studio hybrid – presents “Majestic Beauty,” a collection of wolf inspired artwork created by local artists and national celebrities, including Donald Trump, Jorja Fox, Julie Bell, Eric McCormack, Linda Evans and Dean Koontz. The collection will be displayed in Spirit’s main gallery from September 18 to October 23, Tues. - Sat., 12 to 8 p.m. A silent auction will run throughout the show’s exhibition.

    In conjunction with the show and silent auction, Spirit Gallery will also hold three special “Majestic Beauty” events.

    “Visit from Atka: Live Wolf Event” a lecture and live wolf observation featuring Atka, the Wolf Conservation Center (WCC) of New York’s ambassador wolf, and his caretakers will be held at Spirit Gallery on Saturday, Oct. 2, at 2 p.m. Atka, an eight-year-old Arctic gray wolf, is the youngest ambassador at the WCC and has traveled to schools, museums, nature centers and libraries across the northeast to help people learn about the important role of wolves in the ecosystem. Tickets to the live wolf event are $20 and must be purchased in advance. All attendees must be able to sit or stand for one to two hours and remain quiet. Seating is limited.

    Following “Visit from Atka” Spirit Gallery will host the opening reception for “Majestic Beauty” from 6 to 9 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

    A “Majestic Beauty” live auction will be held on Saturday, Oct. 23, at 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. All pieces receiving five or more bids during the shows silent auction will move on to live auction, giving attendees a second chance to win their desired piece. Blaze Schwaller, Spirit Gallery’s owner and lead tattoo artist, will be auctioneer for the night.
