Connecticut College reached No. 55 in the Kiplinger's Personal Finance annual listing of the best values in liberal arts schools, but it wasn't considered the best bang for the buck in the state.
That honor went to Yale University, No. 2 in the country among private universities for delivering a high-quality education at an affordable price. Yale has an annual cost of $50,800, versus Conn's price tag of $54,110.
Wesleyan University and Trinity College, at Nos. 14 and 40 respectively, rank highly among liberal arts colleges, while Fairfield, at No. 85, and Quinnipiac, No. 99, are top private universities.
