The shelter planned to put the cat on a special diet so he can lose weight gradually. Adult cats typically weigh between 7 and 12 pounds.Editor's Note: The Santa Fe Animal Shelter & Humane Society said Monday, May 7, 2012 that the orange and white tabby died over the weekend, likely from complications from his morbid obesity.
