I was delighted to read Kathleen Edgecomb's article, "Whale's Tales wants children to wake up to books," on Nov. 25 about the "A Book on Every Bed" initiative.
There is no better gift than a book and no greater goal for our children than learning to read at an early age. A great complement to a new book for the holidays is a library card. After all the gifts are unwrapped take your child to your local public library. A library card makes available tens of thousands of books, magazines, movies and more for children of all ages.
