After reading the article, "Groton official dissatisfied with study on police coverage," (July 30), on the study of the Groton Police Department, I cannot believe that the chairman of the Public Safety Committee (RTM), Richard J. Pasqualini is quoted as saying, "They want one police department."
I don't know where in Groton Pasqualini lives or who he's talked to but as a life-long resident I know that Groton Long Point residents do not want to lose its police department that caters to them and that Groton city residents don't want to lose the quick response time their calls receive.
Can we save money with a merger? No doubt about it. Will you live to see it? No way.
