    M-13 leads punk/hardcore line-up at German Club

I wish musicians in Christian bands would make up funny names to reflect their personnae the way punk rockers do. "On lead guitar! Please welcome Donny Seraph! On drums! Say hello to Kris Halo!"

    Oh, well, someday ...

In the meantime, punk/hardcore act M-13 - which includes a bassist named Al Pist and a guitarist called Mike Familiar - performs Saturday at the German Club in Mystic. The band, signed to the Overdose On Records label, made regular stops at New London's El 'n' Gee Club, so it's nice to see them back in the area as they hone new songs for an upcoming album.

Also on the bill: NO!, Mooseknuckle, Bust It!, Gorgon, Dead City Riot, and comedian Johnny Arson - whose name is also presumably ironic, unless his parents really are Mr. and Mrs. Arson.

    - RICK KOSTER

    M-13, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, German Club, 54 Greenmanville Ave., Mystic; $5 all ages; facebook.com/pages/The-German-Club.
