Town of Madison workers, led by First Selectman Fillmore McPherson, took the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge on Aug. 16 at the beach at the Surf Club.

Challenged by the Town of Guilford to take the challenge, about 30 town workers-and their kids and families-took part in the challenge. McPherson called out to the Town of Clinton to take the Ice Bucket Challenge, before dumping the ice over himself.

McPherson said the Madison workers took the challenge not only to raise awareness about ALS (Lou Gehrig's) disease, but also to raise donations for Amanda's Angels. Amanda Bernier is a Madison volunteer firefighter who has ALS.
