    H.S. soccer roundup: East Lyme girls' clinch ECC Large title

    Ledyard —Isabelle Moore scored the go-ahead goal in the 55th minute to help lift unbeaten East Lyme past Ledyard, 3-1, on Wednesday and clinch the Eastern Connecticut Conference Large Division girls' soccer title.

    Katie Christiansen closed out the scoring for the Vikings, who improved to 12-0-1, 8-0-1.

    Ledyard (10-3-1, 5-3-1) took a quick 1-0 lead on Olivia Holubecki's goal in the ninth minute. An own goal tied the game at 1-1 before Moore delivered the decisive strike.

    In other games:

    • Claire Hurley scored three goals in Waterford's 3-0 shutout of Plainfield in the ECC Medium Division. Megan Sturm had two assists and goalie Jordan Kovacs made seven saves for the Lancers (8-3-3, 4-3-2).

    • Marissa Fratoni made four saves to earn a shutout, leading St. Bernard past Windham, 4-0, in the ECC Small. Mia Londregan had two goals while Kara Bassett added a goal and two assists and Emily Smith also scored for the Saints (8-4-1, 8-1-1).

    • Gabby Silvia and Hannah Van Essendelft each scored twice to help pace Stonington past Plainfield, 4-1, in the ECC Medium. Taylor Hertlein had two assists for Stonington (9-3-1, 6-1-1) and Gabi Hoops added five saves. Audrey Grayson scored for the Panthers.

    • Montville scored three second half goals to rally for a 3-1 win over New London in the ECC Medium. Rachel Marchini scored twice and Montville (7-3-3, 5-2-2) added an own goal while Stefanie Szot had three saves. Mia Santana scored for the Whalers (0-11-1, 0-7-1).

    • Makara Sorel scored two second half goals to lead Woodstock past Norwich Free Academy, 6-0, in the ECC Large. Goalie Katelyn Duca made 17 saves for NFA (5-8-1, 2-7).

    • Shea Berry had 24 saves for Fitch in its 3-0 loss to Bacon Academy in the ECC Large. Molly Kelly and Samantha Hebert scored for Bacon. The Falcons are 3-11, 1-8.

    Boys

    • Chase Collegiate scored twice in the second half to beat St. Thomas More 2-0. John Wheatley made 11 saves for T-More.
