Former Mohegan Sun worker charged with 4 counts of voyeurism, child porn offenses

Mohegan — State police Friday arrested a former Mohegan Sun cafeteria worker who they allege attached a small camera to his shoe to take images of unsuspecting employees who were wearing skirts.

James Johnson, 52, of 127 Litton Ave., Groton, was charged with four counts of voyeurism, four counts of disorderly conduct, tampering with physical evidence and third-degree child pornography.

Police said on April 30 they began their investigation of Johnson. Police said Johnson would stand behind the female employees and place his shoe underneath their skirts, taking film or pictures.

When Johnson was detained by Tribal Police, he had the camera in his possession, state police said.

The state police Casino Unit applied for two search and seizure warrants for his home and contents inside the dwelling. Police seized numerous computers and electronic devices, which were taken to the Computer Crime Unit for further examination.

Police said they found the images taken of the women along with images of child pornography.

Johnson posted a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Superior Court in Norwich on Dec. 4.
