Tom Callinan performs a benefit concert

If only Santa could sing! What a wealth of toys he would bring to thee! No worries, though.

Santa’s doing fine as is — and to that musical extent, songwriter Tom Callinan is glad to help the Nick Man out.

At 2 p.m. today in Waterford’s Crystal Mall, Callinan — who was named the first Connecticut State Troubadour in 1991 — presents his second annual benefit concert for the “Toys-For-Tots” program.

Members of the Thames River Detachment #1334 of the Marine Corps League will be on hand collecting unwrapped toys and accepting financial donations to purchase presents for underprivileged kids in New London County.

Crystal Mall is located at 850 Hartford Turnpike, Waterford.
