Barry Manilow brings farewell tour to Foxwoods
It's become a concert tradition: singers of a certain age sally forth for one last tour - a farewell tour, if you will. (Although, as we've learned, a lot of them turn out not be the actual final tour, but why should accuracy stand in the way of effective marketing?)
The latest addition to this tour ritual: Barry Manilow.
He has stepped out on his "One Last Time!" trek, with a stop Saturday at Foxwoods' Grand Theater. Opening the show is saxophonist Dave Koz.
Manilow told Billboard in February that he's not retiring, but there will be "no more big tours. That's it. It's too much packing."
He doesn't plan to stint on the hits during these concerts. And, speaking of his hits, he had his very first #1 40 years ago, with "Mandy."
