    Mystic Schooners are looking for host families for the players

    The Mystic Schooners of the New England Collegiate Baseball League are looking for families to host players. The team will be holding a meeting on Tuesday at the Quality Inn on Route 27 in Mystic beginning at 7 p.m.

    The Schooners begin their fifth season on June 9, playing the Sanford Mainers at Fitch High School in Groton. The team will play 22 home games, most of which begin at 6:05 p.m. Last season the Schooners made the NECBL playoffs for the third consecutive season, winning the Southern Division Championship for the first time in franchise history while compiling a 31-18 record. 

    This year's roster will include returning players Joe Rivera from UConn, Nick Mascelli from Wagner, Ryan Thomas from Marist, Rich Slenker from Yale and former Stonington High and Avery Point standout Doug Domnarski, who is playing at UConn.
