Point of cartoon was no laughing matter

A Jim Morin cartoon published in The Day depicts two men who are apparent survivors of a nuclear attack. One asks “what happened?” The other replies “The result of a President Trump joke gone bad.” An impossible scenario? Consider this possibility: President (gasp) Trump says something outrageously snarky about North Korean ruler Kim Jong Un. In response, the wildly unpredictable Kim fires a nuclear tipped missile at Seoul, thereby setting off a world-wide nuclear conflagration in which millions are killed. Perhaps rather than impossible, the scenario is merely unlikely. I for one, don’t want to take that chance. When it comes to nuclear holocaust, unlikely is not good enough.
