    On the road again

Kenny Chesney performs Friday and Saturday at Mohegan Sun Arena.

    He’s baaaaaack.

Kenny Chesney, who has been a fixture with his summer concert tours, did the unthinkable last year: he took time off.

But you can’t keep an enthusiastic country star off the road for long, and Chesney just kicked off his new Big Revival Tour. So, So, No Shoes Nation, kick your flip-flops off and raise those red Solo cups — your leader has returned.

Chesney is bringing the whole Nashville-by-way-of-Key-West extravaganza to Mohegan Sun for a two-night stay, with shows on Friday and Saturday.

The tour is, naturally, in support of his latest CD, “The Big Revival,” whose singles have so far included “American Kids” and “Til It’s Gone,” so some of the new tunes are in the set-list mix, along with the traditional crowd-pleasers.
