    Fusion is anything but run-of-the-Mill

Local arists will show off their skills at body painting.

This marks the fourth year for Fusion, the entertaining event that shines a light on the Velvet Mill studios in Stonington and on local artists — and showcases live body-painting on models.

Fusion is a fundraiser hosted by the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Westerly-Pawcatuck Area Chamber of Commerce, and it happens Friday at the Velvet Mill.

Folks attending Fusion can sample dishes cooked up by local restaurants, and they can sip beer and wine provided by breweries and vineyards around the region.

They can take in myriad other aspects of Fusion: Sue Adam of GIRA! Event Planning turns the Velvet Mill’s large garage into a space aiming to resemble “an edgy New York City nightclub,” and April Brunelle of April’s Balloon Creations designs two balloon gowns. Oh, and they can ooh and aah at a project involving car art, which is done in collaboration with The Valenti Family of Dealerships.
