I wonder if Cedric the Entertainer felt obligated to go into showbiz just because his parents named him "Cedric the Entertainer." Hard to say. His sister, Marjorie the Dental Hygienist, did in fact go into oral care, though as an actual endodontist focusing on diseases of the pulp and associated periradicular conditions of the human mouth.

On the other hand, Cedric's brother, Lucas the Circus Strongman, manages an Arby's in St. Louis.

So who knows?

What is important is that Cedric the Entertainer — comedian, game show host, actor and director — is an all-encompassing entertainer. His latest film, "Barbershop: The Next Cut," in which he's part of an all-star ensemble cast in the third effort in the popular franchise, scored great reviews and did very well at the box office.

It's in his standup guise, though, that Cedric hits Grand Theater stage at Foxwoods Saturday. Anticipate mucho punch lines and humorous anecdotes from across the universe of his career.
