Tugboats are the focus of New London program

Cambridge author-architect-tugboat enthusiast Paull Farrell will be at the Custom House Maritime Museum to present "Tugboats Illustrated: History, Technology, Seamanship" at 3 p.m. Saturday.

The talk is based on his book, "Tugboats Illustrated," published by W.W. Norton & Co. in November 2016, which is available in the Custom House museum shop. Following the talk, attendees can board a real tugboat with Farrell, the tug provided by the Thames Towboat Company.

Space is limited. Tickets are $16, $12 for NL Maritime Society or Stonington Historical Society members, and may be purchased by calling (860) 447-2501 or online at brownpapertickets.com/event/3091447.

The Custom House Maritime Museum is at 150 Bank St., New London.
