Spy novelist Ted Bell appears Tuesday at Savoy Bookshop

    Ted Bell (tedbell.com)

Any chance spy novelist Ted Bell's fans would read all nine of his Alex Hawke books and say, "OK, this is getting to the point of overkill?"

    No. Don't even think that.

In fact, it's amusing that Bell's newest book is called "Overkill" because readers can't get too much of Lord Alexander Hawke. This time out, Hawke, whose son has been kidnapped, goes head-to-head with Russian President Vladimir Putin. I'm betting on Alex.

See Bell discuss and sign "Overkill" Tuesday in Westerly at the Savoy Bookshop & Cafe.

Ted Bell, 7 p.m. Tuesday, Savoy Bookshop & Cafe, 10 Canal St., Westerly; free; (401) 213-3901.
