Following an eventful state football championship Saturday, in which we had three local teams competing for titles, the fall sports season for the 2014-15 school year is complete.

Now it's time for The Day's eight Fall All-Area teams to be published. The teams, each featuring a Player of the Year, as well as an all-star team made up of athletes from our coverage area, will begin appearing in Tuesday edition. All teams were voted on by the newspaper's sports staff.

The schedule for publication of the teams is as follows: Tuesday, girls' soccer; Wednesday, boys' soccer; Thursday, football; Friday, swimming; Saturday, volleyball; Sunday, Dec. 28, field hockey; Monday, Dec. 29, boys' cross country; and Tuesday, Dec. 30, girls' cross country.

Congratulations to all the athletes we've covered throughout the fall for their many accomplishments and best wishes to all coaches and athletes as we begin the winter season.
