    Boys' basketball roundup: Sulik's late free throws lift Norwich Tech past Putnam

    Norwich - Jacob Sulik's basket with three seconds left lifted the Norwich Tech boys' basketball team to a 53-51 win over Putnam in a Constitution State Conference game Friday.

    Norwich Tech's Cal Senesac made two free throws to tie the game at 51-51 and Sulik took a pass from Jared Neal and made the winning shot.

    Alex Casillas had 15 points and Mike Froscello scored 12 for Norwich Tech (4-7).

    In other games:

    • Paul Pepas had a game-high 27 points as first-place St. Bernard edged Griswold in overtime, 63-61 in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Small Division game. Remy Bonser scored 18 and John Vogt added 10 points for the Saints (8-3, 5-1). Jordan Baker had 26 points for Griswold (6-6, 3-3) and Ezra Labrie scored 13.

    • Amadi White had 25 points, 11 rebounds and six steals as Stonington bounced Montville 79-59 in the ECC Medium. Matt Donahue had 23 points and four steals for Stonington (6-7, 2-3) and Ben Volk added 10 rebounds. Buddy Dewaine scored 20 and T.T. Bowens had 16 points for Montville (4-8, 1-4). Cody Calash added 13 points.

    • Drake Gavin had 20 points as Old Lyme beat Hyde 50-47 in the Shoreline Conference. Jacob Ballachino scored 10 for Old Lyme (10-3, 8-3). Carl Edwards had 15 points for the Howling Wolves (7-4, 7-3).

    • Landon Peabody scored 21 and Isaiah Jones added 14 points and six steals as Waterford downed Plainfield 67-41 in the ECC Medium. Kyle McComic had 12 points and Kevin Johnson had eight assists for Waterford (7-3, 4-1), which had 20 steals and 19 assists. Steve Jankowski scored 12 for Plainfield.

    • Jimmy Matos scored 15 as Bacon Academy used a big first quarter to beat East Lyme 55-20. Bacon led 17-3 after one period. Sean Kelly had 11 points for Bacon (8-4, 3-2). Steve Lewis had 10 points for East Lyme (0-12, 0-5).

    • Darling Ventura had a game-high 25 points as Windham beat Wheeler 74-49 in the ECC Small. Windham is 9-3, 4-1. Alex Haines had 10 points and 11 rebounds for Wheeler (6-6, 2-4) and Mike Dellaporta added 17 points.

    • Oxford Academy beat Williams School 43-30. Liam Tresnan had 12 points, Jake Parizo scored 11 and Jack Hisle had seven rebounds for Williams.
