    Today’s Games

    Woodstock at Fitch, 6:30 p.m.

Records: Woodstock (1-7, 0-2 ECC Large); Fitch (4-4, 3-1 ECC Large)

Last week: Woodstock lost to Waterford 45-14; Fitch lost to Killingly 15-6

Outlook: Fitch lost its third straight last week, but by all counts, played well against once-beaten Killingly. The Falcons can still have a winning season with a victory here and on Thanksgiving vs. Ledyard. Given that the program entered the season on a 13-game losing streak, a winning season would be considered a major success.

    Griswold at Waterford, 6:30 p.m.

    Records: Griswold (4-3, 3-1 ECC Small); Waterford (3-4, 1-3)

Last week: Griswold defeated Montville 20-7; Waterford defeated Woodstock 45-14

Outlook: It’s Senior Night at Waterford, a chance for the Lancers to remain among the hottest teams in the ECC. Waterford has won three straight, eclipsing 40 points in two consecutive games. Griswold has won two straight since back to back losses against NFA and Ledyard in October. The Wolverines are the only team to defeat Killingly this year and still have hopes to win the ECC Small Division.

    Montville at Killingly, 6:30 p.m.

    Records: Montville (4-3, 1-2 ECC Small); Killingly (7-1, 4-1)

Last week: Montville lost to Griswold 20-7; Killingly defeated Fitch 15-6

Outlook: Killingly is two wins away from its first state tournament berth since the days in the mid-1990s when current athletic director Gene Blain was coaching. The Redmen survived a scare last week, rallying from a 6-2 deficit at Fitch in the second half. Montville can still have a winning season, despite its loss to Griswold last week.

East Lyme at Windham, 6:30 p.m.

Records: East Lyme (2-6); Windham (6-2)

Last week: East Lyme lost to Ledyard 49-6; Windham defeated New London 14-13

Outlook: Windham kept its state playoff hopes alive with a win at New London last week, although the Whips fell under the “send help” category of Ned Griffen’s latest state playoff bracketology. Windham must win its last two games and hope for some help. East Lyme, despite its two wins, resides in Class L, which would give the Whips some bonus points they need desperately.

    Plainfield at Ledyard, 6:30 p.m.

    Records: Plainfield (3-5); Ledyard (7-1)

Last week: Plainfield lost to Stonington 21-15; Ledyard defeated East Lyme 49-6

Outlook: It is “Cowbell Night” in Ledyard, a chance for the fans to have some fun and perhaps even ring in another playoff berth. The Colonels are in position to clinch another berth under coach Jim Buonocore and move closer to a home game in the state quarterfinals. Ledyard is among the hottest teams in Connecticut, let alone the ECC. Plainfield hasn’t beaten a school from Connecticut since Sept. 25.

    Stonington at NFA, 6:30 p.m.

    Records: Stonington (2-6); NFA (4-4)

Last week: Stonington defeated Plainfield 21-15; NFA lost to Bacon Academy 26-7

Outlook: After last week’s game, NFA coach Jemal Davis challenged his team to finish strong, in spite of two straight losses. NFA did welcome back quarterback Jawaun Johnson last week, which should help the offense. The defense has been solid, led by sophomore Caleb Parker and his league-high 10 interceptions. Stonington snapped a two-game losing streak last week.

    Canton at Valley-Old Lyme, 6:30 p.m.

    Records: Canton (0-8); Valley-OL (4-4).

Last week: Canton lost to Lewis Mills 40-14; Valley-OL defeated Old Saybrook-Westbrook 27-13

Outlook: Valley-Old Lyme has won two straight, led by quarterback Matt Sapere’s arm two weeks ago against Coginchaug and running back Daniel Stecher’s 163 rushing yards last week. The Warriors have a great chance at a winning season and should at least move to 5-4 here against winless Canton
