Outlook: Junior Matt Sapere has averaged 125.8 yards passing with 11 touchdowns in his first season as the Warriors' starting quarterback while runing for four scores. Classmate Dan Stecher has rushed for a season-high 725 yards with nine touchdowns, and senior Gus Cummins leads the team in catches (20) and yards (397). Senior linebacker Jared Roche has led Valley/Old Lyme's defense with 100 tackles. The Cougars have improved in their second-year under head coach Mike Baklik as they've already topped last year's 4-7 finish. H-K isn't shy about having junior QB Alex Segaline air it out (21 touchdowns). His favorite target has been senior Nate Derita (12 touchdown catches).
