Victory for the people in Town of Waterford

    xxxxx

Congratulations to the residents of Waterford for undoing the backroom deal made with Superintedent Jerry Belair. This agreement looked like something cooked up by John Rowland. I was taken aback by the comments on what a great job he did saving money for the town. What was missing was that he did it on the backs of the employees; teachers, custodians, para-professionals, and the rest of the staff who do the work.

I first saw him in action in Weston where his disdain for the board employees and the rest of the unwashed could not be hidden. He was touted in Weston for saving money also. The Weston Board of Education employees were the unhappiest workers I had ever seen. He had no respect for what they did and could not hide his anti-union animus.

I think it is poetic justice that his sleazy deal was undone by those disliked most, union workers. Good riddance.
