Insulting to deny mistreatment of returning Vietnam veterans

    xxxxx

I have to respond to the letter, “Vietnam vet treatment is often exaggerated,” (March 15). Maybe this definitive piece of (I will call it, politely) information is just a continuing tapestry from the quilt from my generation.

Is the San Francisco airport a military facility? Insults, finger gestures, (friendly homecoming)! Anything, the supposedly educated could do to hurt us, they did, indeed do. By the time I landed at JFK, (another for those who thought otherwise, a military facility), I thought my God, we are hated.

I’m not going to insult the letter writer. Let him Google his days away; cite every living professor and where in 'Nam was Rob Simmons?

Google, L. Z. Illingworth April 1, 1970, then apologize. Not only did we fight a trumped up Iraq war, but to now call us fibbers from your Google toy - unbelievable.
