Stonington -- State Sen. Heather Somers, R-18th District, will host a Pints and Policy Office Hour at the Beer’d Brewing Co. on Thursday from 6 to 7 p.m. The event is open to the public.

Somers, of Groton, announced last week she is seeking re-election this fall. Beer’d is located at 22 Bayview Ave.

“As the 2018 Legislative Session begins, my mission is no different than it has been in the past, and that is to put the State of Connecticut and the taxpayers who live here before all else,” said Somers. “Part of that means hosting town halls and office hours to hear from my constituents and listen to their ideas of how to bring Connecticut back to its former glory. I am here to represent the 18th District and this event is a great way to get out of Hartford politics and get back to the great people who live in Southeastern Connecticut. I want to encourage all of my constituents to attend and support this small business.”
