    Christopher, Rocco hustle back and win Speedbowl features

    Waterford — Veteran drivers Ted Christopher and Keith Rocco, who competed earlier in the day at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway, hustled back in time to take part in the weekly Saturday night card at the New London-Waterford Speedbowl ... and both came away with victories.

    Christopher captured the 35-lap SK Modified feature while Rocco visited Victory Lane after winning the 30-lap Late Model feature.

    Both competed in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Andy Blacksmith 100 earlier Saturday in Loudon where Rocco finished ninth and Christopher 30th. Christopher completed only 55 laps after being involved in a crash

    The other Speedbowl feature winners were Uncasville's Brandon Plemons (25-lap Limited Sportsman), Lisbon's Keith Cassidy Jr. (25-lap Mini Stock) and Dana Dimatteo (Legends Cars).

    Christopher started 11th in the SK Modified feature put worked his way to the front, finishing ahead of Waterford's Rob Janovic Jr. (second) and Quaker Hill's Diego Monahan (third).

    Rocco also worked his way to the front of the Late Model feature after starting seventh. He took the checkered flag ahead of runnerup Christopher Garside of Waterford and Jason Palmer, who placed third.

    Plemons was followed by Ledyard's Corey Coates and East Lyme's Jon Porter in the Limited Sportsman race, while Groton's Ray Christian III was second behind Cassidy in the Mini Stocks feature and Oakdale's Wayne Burroughs Jr. finished third. Cory Dimmateo wound up second in the Legens Cars event and Ryan Lutz placed third.
