    Local roundup: Strelevitz, Johanson have a day for Ledyard swimming

    Mashantucket — Olivia Strelevitz and Maddie Johanson won two individual events each as the Ledyard High School swim team defeated Windsor Locks/Ellington/East Granby 80-63 in a nonleague meet Wednesday.

    Strelevitz won the 100-yard butterfly (1:06.12) and 100 backstroke (1:08.91) and Johanson took the 200 individual medley (2:29.90) and 100 breaststroke (1:17.62). Madison Sanborn won the 50 freestyle in 30.38 for Ledyard (5-6) and Gabi Schaufler, Becca Patterson, Emma Pons, Hannah Roediger, Jenna McHale, Johanson, Strelevitz and Sanborn teamed up to win all three relays.

    H.S. girls' soccer

    • Audrey Matson scored to break a 1-1 tie and lead Williams School to a 2-1 win over Chase Collegiate. Williams (6-5) led 1-0 at halftime on a goal by Camryn Werbinski.

    H.S. volleyball

    • Ledyard beat Waterford 25-23, 25-21, 25-27, 25-21. Whitney Brandt had 10 kills, Cynthia Petersons had six kills and Katie Krupansky had five kills and four aces for Ledyard (8-12). Alaina Moger had 41 assists and four aces, Savannah Larson had 14 kills and Molly Kosma had 15 digs for Waterford (8-11).

    • Montville swept Norwich Tech, winning by game scores of 25-21, 25-18 and 32-30. Christi Johnson had nine kills and Sarah Monahan had six kills for Montville (6-13). Maddie Bodley had seven kills and nine digs while Vanessa Gumbs had seven kills, nine digs and two assists and Chloe Guzman added 12 digs and seven assists for Norwich Tech (15-4).

    • Kayley Ericson had 27 assists and 11 service points in Norwich Free Academy's 3-1 loss to Coventry, which won by game scores of 15-25, 25-19, 25-13 and 25-17. Emily Marker had 15 digs and Megan Goldstein added nine kills for NFA (11-6).

    H.S. boys' soccer

    • Williams School and St. Thomas More played to a 1-1 tie. Fehme Braish scored in the first half for Williams (2-8-1) with Nick Chirillo assisting.

    H.S. cross country

    • Williams School finished third in both the boys' and girls' races at the Eric Jacober Invitational in Barrington, R.I. Catherine Shannon of Williams won the girls' race with a time of 20:14 and teammates Mary Madaus (fourth, 20:31) and Grace Cassineri (13th, 23:46) also made the top 20. Will Jarrett (14th, 18:56), Colin Madaus (17th,19:01) and Eli Griswold (20th, 19:37) of Williams made the top 20 in the boys' race.

    Women's soccer

    • Mitchell College ended its regular season on a high note, beating Wheelock 4-0 in the NECC to clinch a spot in the conference tournament. Taylor Saja had three goals and an assist, Jacquelyn White scored, Jordan Lohneiss made four saves for her first career shutout, Lindsay Noble had two assists and Sophie Spiller had an assist for Mitchell (2-13, 2-7), which plays at Elms in a quarterfinal on Saturday.

    Men's soccer

    • Chris Lockwood scored in the 57th minute as Connecticut College beat Wesleyan 1-0 in a New England Small College Athletic Conference game. Ousmane Dieng assisted on the goal and Mark Cameron made three saves for Conn (10-4-1, 5-4-1).

    College field hockey

    • Sam Seglet scored in the 61st minute to break a 3-3 tie and lead Connecticut College to a 4-3 win over Wesleyan in the NESCAC. Bryn MacGillivray and Seglet had a goal and an assist each for Conn (5-10, 3-7), Amanda Jacobsen and Cheyanne Asplundh had goals and Colbi Vaillancourt and Sophie Pollinger had assists.

    College volleyball

    • Regis beat Mitchell 29-27, 25-14, 25-9 in the NECC. Janelle Rice had 20 assists, Colby Zitoli had 10 digs and Amanda Rowan had eight kills for Mitchell (3-17, 0-7).
