Local roundup: Conn College women tie in hockey

Geneva, N.Y. — The Connecticut College women's hockey team settled for a 1-1 tie on Monday with William Smith in a nonleague game.

No. 8 Conn (6-2-1) took the lead on Steph Izzi's first-period goal. Katlyn Paiva assisted on the goal and Bailey Mertz made 29 saves. William Smith (3-7-2) tied the game on Rebecca Bagley's goal 2:21 into the third period.

Conn beat William Smith 5-1 on Sunday. Lauren Helm scored twice and Katherine Chester (21) and Dylann Nasr combined for make 30 saves. Kyla Floresca, Ashley Antcil and Erin Healy also scored for Conn and Julie Beattie had three assists.

• The Eastern CT Eagles lost to Wethersfield/Middletown/Rocky Hill/Plainville 4-0. Troy Moeller made 35 saves for the Eagles (1-5).
