    Local roundup: East Lyme girls' lacrosse team rolls past Bacon

    East Lyme — Karlie Rowe scored eight goals as the East Lyme High School girls' lacrosse team rode a fast start to an easy 18-2 win over Bacon Academy on Friday night.

    Rowe also had an assist for the Vikings (7-1), who led 11-1 at halftime.

    Elena Hynes added three goals and four assists for Easet Lyme while Hailey Gordon scored three goals, Steph deLaforcade had two goals and one assist, Olivia Facchini had one goal and two assists and Maeve Counter scored a goal.

    Molly Kelly and Jordyn Ringuette each scored a goal for Bacon (3-4).

    In other games:

    • Maggie Berger had four goals and four assists to lead Old Lyme to a 14-2 victory over Morgan in the Shoreline Conference. Sydney Cowell added three goals and three assists for the Wildcats (6-2) while Abby Berger scored three goals and Anna Mesham had two goals and two assists.

    Boys' lacrosse

    • Fitch lost to Branford 16-6 on Thursday night despite three goals from Bray Wilson, a goal and an assist by Riley Jordan, two assists by Noah Reuling and 22 saves by goalie Christian Snodgrass.

    H.S. baseball

    • Bobby Silva pitched a five-hitter and went 2-for-3 with an RBI as Waterford beat Windham 8-2. Tyler Yeomans went 2-for-3 with two RBI for the Lancers (9-2) and Dylan Bosco went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI. John Benavidez went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Windham (2-7).

    • Matt Shane pitched a two-hitter, struck out 13 and picked three runners off first to lead Bacon Academy to an 8-2 win over St. Bernard. He took a no-hitter into the sixth when Connor Svab singled with one out for the Saints (3-8). Josh Gurnack added an RBI single for St. Bernard.

    • Cooper Thompson pitched a three-hitter as No. 6 Morgan remained unbeaten with a 12-0 victory over Old Lyme in the Shoreline Conference. Liam Holloway, Robby Fusari and Jordan Warecke each had a hit for the Wildcats (7-3).

    • Bryan Albee pitched a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts as Killingly defeated Wheeler 3-1. The Lions are 2-7.

    Boys' golf

    • Sam Gaboury shot a low-round 38 to pace Montville past Bacon Academy (6-1) in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Division II match. Chris Bouchard shot a 39 for Montville (8-1, 1-1).

    • Stonington’s Jack Glenn and Jack Ognisty both shot a low-round 38 in a 7-0 win over Wheeler. Grant Hamilton shot a 41 for Stonington (4-0). Wheeler (2-3) also lost to Old Saybrook, 188-227.

    • Tim Glavin earned medalist honors with a 49 during New London's 6-1 ECC Division I win over Fitch on Thursday. Andre McClain and Zach Moore also won matches for the Whalers.
