Stonington - The 3rd Annual Ice Cream Bowl, an eating competition between seniors on the Stonington and Westerly High School football teams, will again take place Saturday at 1 p.m at Mel's Downtown Creamery in Pawcatuck.

Stonington, which plays Westerly in the traditional Thanksgiving Day game, has won the ice cream competition the past two years.

The event is also a fundraiser as spectators can bring a nonperishable food items that will be donated to local food pantries. The event is also a fundraiser for both schools' football teams.
