Mystic - The Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center is offering two opportunities to meet its baby opossum, Mr. Wiggles, including a beer and wine meet and greet for adults.

Mr. Wiggles arrived at the nature center in July after his mother and siblings were killed by a car. Since then, he has been hand-raised by nature center educator Lori Edwards. The center plans to release Mr. Wiggles, who has been active on the nature center's Facebook page, in the spring.

Meet Mr. Wiggles, will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m., Jan. 6. The cost is $12.75 for members and $15 for nonmembers, and includes beer, wine, soft drinks and snacks. Participants will learn about the special adaptations that opossums have to survive.

Our Awesome Opossum, is for adults and children from 10 to 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 24. The cost is $5.95 for members and $7 for nonmembers. In addition to learning about the adaptations opossums have to survive, participants will read a book about opossums and take a nature walk with him.
