    UConn Master Gardener Program taking applications

    The University of Connecticut Master Gardener Program is accepting applications for 2016.

    The program provides horticultural training to individuals who wish to expand their gardening interests and share their knowledge with the public through community volunteerism.

    The program will begin in January with 16 full-day classes (one day per week) followed by 60 hours of volunteer service to be completed by September 2016.

    Individuals successfully completing the program receive University of Connecticut Cooperative Extension Master Gardener certification.

    Classes will meet in Torrington, Vernon, Norwich, New Haven and Stamford. The charge for the program is $425. 

    Applications can be downloaded at: mastergardener.uconn.edu. The deadline for applications is Nov. 6.
