Salem commission to continue farm brewery discussion

The Salem Planning and Zoning Commission will continue discussing an application that would bring a farm brewery to the town at its Jan. 19 meeting. Zack and Laura Adams are seeking to establish a Special Agricultural Zone on their property on Music Vale Road in order to start Fox Farm Brewery.

The public hearing for the application started at the Nov. 17 meeting and continued into the Nov. 24 and Dec. 15 meetings. The commission has 65 days after the closing of the public hearing, or until Feb. 18, to make a decision on the application.

After closing the public hearing Dec. 15, Chairwoman Gloria Fogarty gave the rest of the commission until 9 p.m. to discuss the application. Continuing the discussion at the Jan. 19 meeting would allow ample time to make the right decision, she said.
