Montville gets grant to pay for new gasoline tanks at public safety complex

Montville — A nearly $500,000 state grant will help the town replace gasoline tanks at the public works complex.

Town officials had applied for a Department of Economic and Community Development urban action grant to help pay for the new gas tanks, which will serve all town-owned vehicles, as well as drainage repairs on the site.

The grant will help pay for two 10,000-gallon tanks to replace the aging equipment serving the town's fleet of vehicles, Montville Finance Director Terry Hart said Monday.

The Montville Town Council voted unanimously at its meeting Monday night to create an item within the town's budget to accommodate the grant.
