Kerry Elise Gotowka, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Gotowka, of Old Lyme, and Tyler Allen, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Allen, of Stonington, were married on Aug. 1, 2015.

The ceremony took place on the deck of the Stonington Borough School overlooking Little Narragansett Bay. The reception was held on the pier at Seaport Marine in Mystic.

The bride is a graduate of Lake Forest College and earned her master’s degree at the University of New Haven. Kerry is currently teaching kindergarten at the Early Childhood Center at Harbor School in New London.

Tyler graduated from Stonington High School and is the owner of a landscaping and lawn service company in Stonington.

Friends and family from New York, New England, Maryland, Washington state, Hong Kong, and Wales joined the celebration. In their toast, Kerry’s parents reviewed the lessons learned in several of her favorite childhood books.

The couple is currently completing construction of their home in Pawcatuck.
