Leslie Margaret McDermott married Michael Liam Mahoney on Jan. 2, 2016, in St. Barnabas RC Church in Bronx, N.Y. Father Lachlan Cameron officiated the Banns of Marriage, and the ceremonial music was provided by The New York Metro Pipe Band.

The bride graduated from Wagner College, N.Y., with a bachelor of science degree in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse at the Hospital for Special Surgery, New York City. Her parents, Dr. Edward McDermott and Kathleen Cooper-McDermott, reside in Groton.

The groom received a bachelor of arts degree from Iona College, N.Y. He is employed as the vice president of Structured Finance at Markit, New York City. His parents, Lawrence and Marilyn Mahoney, reside in Long Beach Island, N.Y. and Highland Beach, Fla.

They honeymooned in St. Bart’s and now reside in Long Island City, N.Y.
