Wind River
“Wind River” is good … but grim. Taylor Sheridan, who wrote the screenplays for “Hell and High Water” and “Sicario,” directed this drama based on his own script, and it’s a dark tale of kidnap, murder and the deep pain felt by the people left behind. An 18-year-old woman is found dead on a bleak Wyoming Indian reservation, and “Wind River” delves into the community, the individuals and the backstory. Elizabeth Olsen is quite good as the young FBI agent sent to investigate, and Jeremy Renner squints and is laconic as the tracker who finds the body and who lost his own daughter to a mysterious death.
