Groton — A woman was charged Monday with first-degree burglary and third-degree assault after she entered her fiance's house without permission, police said.
Madelyn Santiago, 43, of 234 Branford Ave., Groton, was charged after a 911 call was made at 4:13 a.m., according to police.
Groton City Police Sgt. Steve Smith said the incident involved "a fiancee who did not have access to the home, so she opened the window to unlock the door." The woman's fiance told police he was not injured and nothing happened, Smith said.
Another resident of the house, a female roommate who recently moved in, made the emergency call.
