State police continue holiday enforcement operation

The Connecticut State Police had charged nine people with driving under the influence as of 5 p.m. Thursday, during its Thanksgiving weekend enforcement operation that started shortly after midnight on Wednesday and will continue through midnight Sunday.
Police also logged 393 speeding arrests, 56 seatbelt violations and 904 other hazardous moving violations, which include unsafe lane changes, cellphone use while driving and failure to signal.
One hundred forty-six accidents were investigated, 17 of them with injuries.
