Stonington — Pawcatuck firefighters extinguished a fire Monday night that destroyed a garage and its contents at 6 Andrews St.

While the 7:50 p.m. fire was near two homes, Fire Chief Kevin Burns said neither was damaged and there were no injuries.

Burns said that it took firefighters 30 minutes to get the blaze under control. He said the cause of the fire was not suspicious and was accidental in nature.
