New London man arrested on drug charges

New London — A city man was arrested Friday on drug charges after a witness working with police purchased crack cocaine from him.

Curtis M. Jones, 27, of 91 Jefferson Ave., was charged by state police in Montville with possession of narcotics and sale of narcotics.

During the week of Oct. 8, members of the Connecticut State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force and the New London Police Department’s Vice and Intelligence Section met with a cooperating witness about narcotics activity in Southeastern Connecticut, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

The witness agreed to buy crack cocaine from a source known as “Stevie” for law enforcement purposes, the affidavit said. The witness drove to Garfield Avenue, where Jones was living at the time, and bought the drugs, the affidavit said. The witness later identified Jones in a photo array.
