Two arrested, one injured in fight over Donald Trump in Old Saybrook

Old Saybrook — An argument over the president-elect got physical in an Old Saybrook Mexican restaurant Friday, landing a Lyme man in the hospital and resulting in police charges for both men.

Multiple patrons called police Friday at about 8:40 p.m. while two men fought, reportedly throwing dishes, on the second floor of the Cuckoo's Nest on Boston Post Road.

When police arrived they determined that the two men, Lyme resident Evan Brown, who turned 34 on Friday, and Douglas Dahlberg of Clinton, had had an argument over Donald Trump that had turned physical.

The two men did not know each other, Old Saybrook police said in a news release.

Dahlberg, 58, was taken to the Middlesex Medical Center Shoreline Emergency Department to be treated for his injuries. Police charged him with second-degree breach of peace.

Brown was charged with second-degree breach of peace and third-degree assault.

Both men were released after posting bond.
