    Police dismantle pot growing operation in Ledyard, seize 18 guns

    Ledyard — Members of a regional task force, in cooperation with Ledyard police, raided a marijuana cultivation and suspected sales operation at 130 Iron St. on Friday, seizing 18 guns and marijuana-related paraphernalia among other items.

    No arrests were made immediately but police said the investigation is ongoing.

    Police said the items seized during the execution of a search warrant included: 265 grams of marijuana, 5.7 pounds of THC edibles, 1 pound of THC oil, 18 firearms, marijuana cultivation equipment, a 2008 Nissan Altima and an undisclosed amount of cash.

    The Regional Community Enhancement Task Force, formed to combat the heroin crisis in southeastern Connecticut, comprises members of the Ledyard Police Department, Groton Town Police Department, Groton City Police Department, Waterford Police Department, Department of Adult Probation, the Department of Parole and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service.
