New London police make arrest in March stabbing
New London — City police on Monday made an arrest in connection with a stabbing that occurred March 17 outside a downtown bar.
On that night, police said two groups of people, who had been drinking in the Dockside Bar at 36 Bank St., got into a verbal altercation outside. Police said the stabbing followed, with the victim receiving a "considerable laceration" to the lower back. He was transported to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for treatment.
City police announced Tuesday evening in a news release that they had arrested Troy Murallo Bergeson, 34, of 120 Riverview Ave., 2nd floor, on Monday morning without incident. They charged him with first-degree assault. He also was being held on violation of probation charges.
The court set a cash surety bond at $150,000.
