Groton — Town police on Monday arrested two people they said burglarized three vehicles and stole another.

Tyrise Thompkins, 20, of 114 Mather Ave. was charged with larceny of a vehicle, sixth-degree larceny, three counts of burglary from a vehicle, criminal attempt to commit larceny and three counts of conspiracy to commit larceny.

Police said a juvenile is facing the same charges.

According to police, officers early Monday morning responded to the Willow Point neighborhood in the West Mystic section of town for a report of two people burglarizing vehicles.

Police said officers set up a perimeter of the area and had K-9 Argos begin tracking the suspects, who were quickly apprehended.

Officers learned while on scene that someone had called in a stolen vehicle. Police said officers located the vehicle not far from the burglarized vehicles and were able to connect Thompkins and the juvenile to it.

Released on an unspecified bond, Thompkins will appear Sept. 5 in New London Superior Court.

The juvenile’s case will be heard in the Waterford Juvenile Matters Court.
