    Body recovered of hiker who fell to death at West Rock Ridge State Park

    NEW HAVEN — Connecticut environmental officials say members of the New Haven Fire Department have recovered the body of a hiker who fell to his death at West Rock Ridge State Park.

    The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said Monday that officials are still trying to identify the man.

    A witness called 911 around 5:30 p.m. Sunday to report that the man fell from a cliff while hiking. New Haven fire personnel found the man's body at the bottom of the cliff.

    New Haven police and state conservation police also responded to the scene.
