Police ID woman killed in 6-vehicle crash in East Haven

EAST HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — Police have identified the person who was killed in a six-vehicle chain-reaction crash on Interstate 95 in Connecticut that included at least one tractor trailer.

State police on Sunday said Adriana Catana, of Trumbull, died in the crash.

It happened at about 11:15 a.m. Saturday in East Haven. Police say the six vehicles were traveling in a line in the center lane when the last vehicle in line struck the vehicle in front of it, causing a chain-reaction crash. The 68-year-old Catana was a passenger in the fifth car, which subsequently hit a cement barrier.

Police say at least two people were extricated from their vehicles and several people were taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation. There's no word on charges.
